The Busy

Are we too busy to watch the Sun rise and the Sun set?

Too busy to connect with nature and be reminded of our true place in this world?  To be humble?  To feel small?  To respect nature and our own habitat?

Are there too many obstructions in our view?  Too many buildings, too much concrete, too much noise?

Are there too many emails to read, report deadlines and staff meetings?

Are we too busy to visit with friends, to read a book, to just listen to the wind?  Are we too busy reading fake news (you should seriously read that though) or watching bad TV?

The "Busy" is an obstruction of it's own.

Are we too busy to be grateful?  Too busy listen to our conscience?

The wild calls to us if we sit still enough to listen. Our instincts return.  True priorities rise.  Today is Thanksgiving and all I can think of this morning is our sisters and brothers at Standing Rock, protecting water and sacred land for us all.  I'm grateful for those who are risking their lives for this supremely important cause.

Are we too busy to call the White House to express our disagreement?  Are we too busy to call the Morton County Sheriff's Department, the North Dakota Office of the Governor and Senator or the National Guard?

If you are called to call, here are the numbers:

Today is for family, community and gratitude.  Tomorrow is for calling.  Everyday is for calling until this ends.  Public pressure matters.  Human rights matter.
